Robots

“Millions of people never analyze themselves. Mentally they are mechanical products of the factory of their environment, preoccupied with breakfast, lunch, and dinner, working and sleeping, and going here and there to be entertained. They don’t know what or why they are seeking, nor why they never realize complete happiness and lasting satisfaction. By evading self-analysis, people go on being robots, conditioned by their environment. True self-analysis is the greatest art of progress.”  ~Paramahansa Yogananda

  2. But sometimes, just sometimes, I wish we could stop self-analyzing and take a breath to just appreciate ourselves. Because often analysis becomes criticism and harsh judgement. 😪🥺

    • I understand what you’re saying. It can be paralyzing to constantly question every action and motive.

I think the trick– and I know this is more easily said than done– is to ask “Why” without attaching labels of “good” or “bad.”

  4. Ahh yes, introspection and self analysis take us a long way, just as long as it doesn’t become obsessive. Beautiful quote. Thank you for sharing!
