Links

Back in the days of dial-up internet connections, it could take a very long time to download a single web page. It wasn’t unusual for me to queue up a few pages, then go have a cup of coffee or watch a television show and come back when they’d finished loading.

Then I discovered the Links Browser. It’s text-only, which made it both blazing fast and a de facto ad blocker. It became my go-to for reading news and articles online.

I stumbled across it recenty, and it turns out the project has been maintained all these years. It’s still available, and still works well. Internet speeds are much faster now, of course, so it’s not the lifesaver now that it was then, but it’s still a fun little thing to play with.

It’s free and open source, and you can download it HERE.
